An interview with the artist and architects behind the interactive public art installation Newspaper House, which makes use of discarded newspapers collected in London. The event takes place in Gillett Square in London’s Dalston from March 3-9. Artist Sumer Erek working with Schenk Perfler Architects will create a shelter out of 150,000 used newspapers donated by the public. The aim of this art installation, commissioned by new arts organization Creative City, is to raise awareness at the amount of waste and mess created by the 1.7million free London newspapers printed daily. Erek describes the artwork as: "A conceptual work that we hope will raise many questions of awareness in terms of our environment, our cities, our waste, recycling and our relationship with our private space as a house."
